Livelihoods Enhancement, Education and Skilling as a pathway to eliminating child labour in Uganda (LIVES).

This was a collaboration project with the ILO, MoGLSD and the Local Government, which was implemented in six districts including Greater Mbale (Mbale, Sironko and Bulambuli), Central Uganda (Buikwe) and Greater Hoima (Kikuube and Kabalole) districts.
The goal of the project was to provide direct support to project beneficiaries through their members-based organizations that include vulnerable men and women to diversify and enhance their livelihoods by accessing productive, welfare, and financial services and to children aged 14 – 17 supported in their school-to-work transition and referral of children to the formal education system.
The major outcome of this project was that, at least 1100 vulnerable households (HHs) receive direct support and diversify and enhance their livelihoods as well as have strengthened economic ability to support formal schooling of their children and transition those aged 14-17 to decent employment.
