The IWASH is a collaborative project between Nascent RDO-U, with technical support from Link to Progress (LTP) and with financial support of FEMI foundation (Netherlands).
Project Focus
The programme targets households in the most disadvantaged communities of Moroto District to attain increased access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene practices, which contributes to the Sustainable Development Goal 6.
Nascent RDO-U applies the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach and supplements it with the home improvement model (HIM) following the feasibility study conducted by Catholic Relief Services (CRL) in 2019. The study identifies valuable synergies between the community-led total sanitation (CLTS) approach and the home improvement model, especially for the Karamoja region to help address the deep-rooted cultural norms, beliefs and attitudes which impact on improvement of WASH interventions.
